How does it work?

Redge Guardian is a carrier-grade, software-defined DDoS mitigation platform, ready to handle fast-moving, terabit scale attacks, including the latest IoT-based threats. Redge Guardian provides the first layer of network security, inspecting and filtering 100G/100M+ pps on a single COTS x86 server.

Redge Guardian leverages DPDK to bypass the Linux operating system network stack and implements a high-performance packet filtering dataplane. To date, only FPGA and ASIC-based platforms have achieved comparable performance levels.

How does it work?

Comprehensive protection

The Redge Guardian Cloud traffic inspection pipeline comprises of signature-based stateless filters, half-state TCP inspection, and a high-performance L7 regex engine. Signatures are updated periodically based on analyses of ongoing attacks and emerging threats. In addition, users can apply a different filtering policy in the Redge Guardian Cloud management panel.

Deployment scenario

The Redge Guardian Platform is ready for multi-tenancy and is deployed out-of-path as a physical or virtual appliance, enabling carriers and large-scale bare metal providers to offer value-added services to customers. It can be integrated with existing self-service portals.

Upon detection of an attack, a /32 more specific route or FlowSpec /32 rule is injected into transit/peering VRF, which redirects the traffic to the Redge Guardian Platform. Clean traffic gets reinjected into the IP core.
